Wimpy’s Seafood Cafe, which acquired its name from the loveable hamburger eating character on the cartoon Popeye, was established in 1938 as a small hamburger stand. Over the years the restaurant has grown by over 200 seats with the addition of a traditional tavern and two fireside dining rooms. The old breakfast room has become a fish market and specialty food store. The one constant has always been family ownership and a good fresh meal at a reasonable price.
